Law Enforcement Report

WATER VALLEY – Police are seeking help from the public to solve a malicious mischief that occurred in the 1300 block of Jones Street.

Three tires on a 2003 Nissan Altima were stabbed or cut during the late evening Monday, Oct. 27, or early morning Tuesday, Oct. 28, according to Lt. Rick McCuan.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the police department at 473-2933 or CrimeStoppers at 1-866-933-TIPS or by email to TIPS@YalobushaCounty.net.

Lt. McCuan reported the following additional law enforcement activity within the Water Valley City limits during the past week:

• Made one arrest for driving under suspension;

• Took two reports of disturbing the peace;

• Took a report of malicious mischief;

• Took a report of simple assault;

• Took a report of an accident in the Dollar General parking lot;

• Issued a citation for violation of the open container ordinance;

• Issued 16 traffic citations.


Coffeeville Bank Is Burglarized

COFFEEVILLE – Police are investigating a Tuesday morning break-in at the Renasant Bank on Depot Street. The front window of the bank was broken out by “several individuals” during the early morning hours, according to Police Chief Mark Martin.

“They didn’t get anything because everything was locked in the vault,” Martin said.
