The Spirit Of Christmas Lights Up the Valley

Valley residents are certainly showing their creativity for the Christmas season. The Tommy Turner home on Robinson Street at Lafayette Street took second place in the Water Valley Area Chamber of Commerce Christmas Lighting Contest to win the $75 prize.

The Lettie Lee Blackwood home at 131 Dogwood Dr. took top honors in the Lighting Con-test to win the $100 prize. The Herald will publish more winners in next week’s edition.

The Herald office took top honors in the business category with a little help from the youngsters at Imagination Station who created tree ornaments from our newspaper. The Herald will donate the $100 prize money to the downtown art school. –Photos by Jack Gurner

The Christmas tree forest created by Darnell and Pete Vaughn on County Road 97 makes a fantastic view for motorists headed north on Hwy. 7 just south of Water Valley.

The home of Chip and Cathy Odom, located on old Hwy. 7, took a third place finish in the Water Valley Area Chamber of Commerce Christmas Lighting Contest residential category.

Magnolia Home Furnishings earned a third place finish in the annual Water Valley Area Chamber of Commerce Christmas Lighting Contest commercial category, winning a $50 prize.

Bozarts, located on North Main Street, earned a second place finish in the annual Water Valley Area Chamber of Commerce Christmas Lighting Contest commercial category.

The Gazebo in City Park is beautifully decorated by the Garden Club of Water Valley.
