River Represents Water Valley In State’s Miss Hospitality Pageant

HATTIESBURG -Steffi River will represent Water Valley in the 60th Anniversary Mississippi Miss Hospitality Pageant, July 26th – August 1st at the Saenger Theater in downtown Hattiesburg.
Steffi is the daughter of Keith and Jayne River. She attends the University of Mississippi and is majoring in Business. Steffi hopes to attend law school after obtaining her undergraduate degree. She volunteers at her local nursing home, Relay for Life, and Lion’s Club.
Steffi will be one of 32 contestants competing in the pageant for the title of Mississippi Miss Hospitality and will contend for over $100,000 in scholarships and prizes. The theme for this year’s pageant is “60 Years Of Memories” and will feature several production numbers of popular music from the 40’s through today. Also, 25 former State Miss Hospitalities from as far back as 1950, will grace the stage once again as we honor past winners.
During the week, local Miss Hospitalities will also take part in rehearsals, tours, interviews and special events. The week will conclude with two nights of competition, beginning Friday, July 31st at 8 p.m., and concluding Saturday August 1st at 8 p.m.
For 60 years, Mississippi Miss Hospitality has toured the state promoting Mississippi’s tourism, as well as act as a good will ambassador around the state. For the past year, Tori Ferguson has represented Mississippi, sharing hospitality throughout the state and country. Miss Hospitality travels more than 30,000 miles promoting tourism and economic development.
