City Workers Get Lunch Treat

Town and Country Garden Club members prepare plates of food for the city workers.

Street Department Supervisor Mike Scroggins (seated, center) talks with Mayor Larry Hart (standing) about the next step of the clean-up. Hart has been closely monitoring the clean-up, spending hours on the streets with the crews.

Members of the Town and Country Garden Club showed their appreciation for city workers by feeding them lunch on the Railroad Park Pavilion Wednesday at noon.

Margaret Daum, President of the TCGC, said that the workers deserved recognition. “We just appreciate all the extra work they have put in this week to make the town look better.”

Daum added that they served at least 40 meals.

“It was really nice of the ladies to do this for us,” commented Street Department Supervisor Mike Scroggins.
