Lewis And Clark Program Today

COFFEEVILLE – The adventures of Lewis and Clark will be the program topic at the August meeting of the Yalobusha Historical Society.
Drr. Bryant Boswell, dressed in an authentic uniform, will present a slide presentation of the travels of Meriwether Lewis and William Clark and their exploration of the Louisiana Purchase.
The presentation is a forerunner of the national meeting scheduled for the first week in October in Olive Branch. One of the side trips will be to the gravesite of Lewis located on the Natchez Trace in commemoration of the 200th anniversary of his death in 1809.
The Society will meet on Thursday, Aug. 20, beginning at 2 p.m. in the old Presbyterian Church building in downtown Coffeeville. The public is invited to attend.
