Authorities Seek Information About Burglaries

    The Yalobusha County Sheriff’s Office is asking for information about two burglaries that occurred on County Road 224 and County Road 109 sometime during the afternoon hours of December 4, between the hours of 5 p.m. and 9 p.m.

    In the break-ins, an unknown suspect(s) entered the two residences by smashing in the doors and taking personal property.  Extensive damage was done to the doors, and to other areas throughout the residences.             

    Anybody with information about these burglaries may be eligible for a cash reward of UP TO $1,000 by contacting Yalobusha County Crime Stoppers at 473-4935, or toll-free at 1-866-933-TIPS (1-866-933-8477).

    Crime Stoppers callers are never required to reveal their identity nor testify in court.

    A code number system is used to pay cash rewards without compromising the tipster’s identity.  The TIPS line is open and manned 24 hours per day, 7 days per week by law enforcement personnel.  

    As always, the sheriff’s department and all of the county’s municipal police departments are interested in ALL tips for criminal activity, and have a special interest in receiving tips for drug related activity.

WATER VALLEY – Lt. Rick McCuan reported the following law enforcement activity within the Water Valley City limits during the past week:

• Made four arrests for driving under suspension;

• Made two arrests for possession of marijuana;

• Made an arrest for possession of drug paraphernalia;

• Made an arrest for simple domestic assault;

• Made an arrest on a bench warrant;

• Took a report of shoplifting;

• Took a report of leaving the scene of an accident;

• Took a report of malicious mischief;

• Took a report of tresspassing;

• Issued 25 traffic citations.
