Railroad Park Clock Starts

In an amazing display of the ages-old art of timekeeping mixed with modern technology, the Railroad Park Clock started keeping time today. At exactly 12:01 p.m. Central Standard Time, the hands moved for the first time since the clock was erected Monday on the north corner of the downtown park.
Electric Department Manager Joe Newman connected the clock’s mechanism and prepared it to begin timekeeping. Newman was visibly relieved as he watched the clock begin to operate.
