City Law Enforcement Report

WATER VALLEY – Police are investigating a burglary of the Shell Gas Mart #48 at 1207 Central Street. Several items were taken during the Feb. 7 break-in.

Also under investigation is a Jan 29 burglary from a storage unit at O’Tuck Supply.

Officers made a felony shoplifting arrest on Jan. 26. Arnold Wayne Folson, 38, of Water Valley was taken into custody around 7:30 p.m. on that date at Piggly Wiggly, according to Lt. Rick McCuan.

Lt. McCuan reported the following additional law enforcement activity within the Water Valley City limits during the past week:

• Made seven arrests for driving under suspension;

• Made two arrests for possession of marijuana;

• Made an arrest for simple domestic assault;

• Made an arrest for simple assault;

• Made an arrest for DUI first offense;

• Served a warrant for the Yalobusha Justice Court;

• Served a warrant for the Grenada County Sheriff’s Department;

• Took a report of credit card fraud;

• Took two reports of simple assault;

• Took a report of attempted auto burglary;

• Took a report of stalking;

• Issued 44 traffic citations.
