Home Destroyed By Fire On CR 220

Firefighters from the Pine Valley and Velma Volunteer Fire Departments brief Yalobusha Emergency Management Agency Director Frank Hyde (center, pointing) at Tuesday’s fire. Hyde, who also serves as arson investigator for the county, is routinely at the scene of fires as part of his job. He is also a trained firefighter and often assists.

Yalobusha County Firefighters had to deal with a difficult fire at 2676 County Road 220 Tuesday afternoon around 4:40 p.m. Volunteers from the Pine Valley Fire Department were assisted by the Velma Fire Department and Water Valley’s County One truck.
Fire equipment had to navigate a steep driveway to get to the burning structure already well involved when firefighters arrived on the scene. No injuries were reported.
