Water Valley Police Investigate Burglaries

WATER VALLEY – Police are investigating several reports of burglary that occurred over the past two weeks in the city, according to Lt. Rick McCuan.
Last Sunday an alarm was set off just after 12:30 a.m. at O’Tuck Supply at 831 Wise Street. An officer arrived on the scene in under a minute and discovered a portion of an outside wall had been pulled open to gain entry to the building. Officer Nathan Noe and Officer John Hernandez were on the scene for several hours investigating the incident.
On Saturday a residential burglary was reported on South Main Street. An undetermined amount of medication was missing, according to the resident.
A break-in at Rasputans Sandwich Shop at 1012 Central Street was reported on Thursday, May 13, and on Thursday, May 6, an MP3 player was reported stolen from a vehicle parked at the field house in the Community Park.

Lt. McCuan reported the following additional law enforcement activity within the Water Valley City limits during the past two weeks:
• Made six arrests for possession of marijuana;
• Made five arrests for public drunk;
• Made five arrests for driving under suspension;
• Made an arrest for DUI, first offense;
• Made an arrest for domestic assault for Lafayette County;
• Made an arrest for contempt of court;
• Made an arrest for no drivers license;
• Made an arrest for trespassing;
• Made an arrest for simple assault;
• Made an arrest for disturbing the peace;
• Made an arrest for public profanity;
• Made an arrest for drug paraphernalia;
• Took four reports of malicious mischief;
• Took two reports of simple assault;
• Took a report of careless driving;
• Took a report of shoplifting;
• Took a report of theft of utilities;
• Issued a citation for disturbing the peace, loud music;
• Issued 40 traffic citations.
