Friday Night Crash Injures Three

A two-car crash Friday around 10 p.m. on Hwy. 32 west near County Road 225 injured three people, not seriously. Emergency responders from Water Valley and Silva Rena were called initially for a possible entrapment rescue. However, the first units to arrive determined that none of the victims were trapped. The most severely damaged vehicle, a white car traveling westbound, left the road after striking the second vehicle, went up an embankment, and then rolled back downhill. A passenger was treated by emergency medical responders and then taken to an ambulance for transport. A small dog belonging to one of the victims was rescued from the wrecked car. Sylva Rena volunteer Tom Byars (top and bottom photos, holding dog) said that he would care for the frightened pooch until it could be returned to its family.
