The 8th annual Enid Lake Cleanup Day will be held this Saturday. Volunteers interested in participation of the cleanup day activities will meet at Enid Lake’s main office at 7:00 a.m. and conclude at approximately 11:30 a.m. with lunch. Late arrivals are asked to check in with
rangers located throughout the area.
Volunteers will collect trash and rubbish that have accumulated on the shorelines and roadways of the lake. Debris and trash accumulate in the lake from visitor traffic as well as the water flow from the Yokona River and Otoucalofa Creek.
All volunteers will receive a cap or T-shirt and a meal. There will be prizes distributed for a number of categories from most trash collected, to the weirdest and most interesting item collected.
Approximately 300 volunteers participated in last year’s event with the same expected this year.
Eighty compacted cubic yards of trash and 84 tires were accumulated during the 2010 Cleanup day.
