“Come As You Aren’t” Raises Funds For Art Camp

Winners at Saturday night’s “Come As You Aren’t” Water Valley Arts Council fundraiser included (from left)Vicki and Sandy Beyer; Little Bo Peep Don Dalrymple with his sheep, Dayle Dalrymple and Charmie Weeks; Julia Ray; “Cyrano” Ramona Bernard; Cliff “Einstein” Lawson; and danciest dancers Robbie Ethridge and Denton Marcotte. Big Money For Arts, Big Fun For All
The Water Valley Arts Council’s Summer Art Camp For Kids got a $1000 plus boost thanks to some really brave soles who dressed up for a good cause.
The “Come As You Aren’t” costume party and dance this past Saturday night brought out some of the most fun, imaginative, and memorable attire seen in a while.
Here’s what the Arts Council had to say:
Last Saturday night the Water Valley Arts Council’s “Come As You Aren’t” Costume Party and Dance raised over $1,000 to support our Summer Art Camp for Kids.
Our success is the result of efforts of lots of dedicated volunteers and business owners. Our greatest thanks, however, go to Annette Trefzer and Mickey Howley for their support of this event and for the use of their beautiful Bozarts Gallery. We couldn’t have succeeded without them.
Extra-special thanks also go to Bobby Murphree, our DJ for the evening; Katrina Geenen, our hospitality steward; “Doctor” Micah Mitchell of Blue Roots Marketing for the great photographic support during the night; and to our costume contest judges, Snooky and Mary Lou Williams and Jim and Kathleen Sullivan.
