WATER VALLEY – A Yalobusha woman is awaiting extradition from Tennessee after being charged with shooting her husband on County Road  107 near the airport.

Yalobusha Sheriff Lance Humphreys told the Herald that Beverly Davis, 40, was charged with aggravated assault after allegedly shooting her husband Tuesday night at their residence.

Humphreys said the victim, Joe Davis, is in extremely critical condition at the Regional Medical Center in Memphis.

“The call came in at 11:04 Tuesday night,” Humphreys said. “He was airlifted to the Med.”

Humphreys said he charged Beverly Davis Thursday night after interviewing her at a Memphis police precinct. She was then turned over to the fugitive division, where she will remain incarcerated until the extradition hearing.

“We hope to get her back to Yalobusha County by Monday,” Humphreys said.

He also added the investigation is ongoing and others could be charged in connection with the shooting
