OAKLAND – A Water Valley man was killed Monday night in a motorcycle accident on County Road 211, just east of Oakland.

Yalobusha County Sheriff Lance Humphreys reported that Carl A. Few, 38, was traveling west on County Road 211, when his motorcycle was struck by an eastbound vehicle.

“It appears the vehicle was making a left turn when it collided with Few’s motorcycle,” Humphreys told the Herald.

Few was traveling to work at Windsor Foods in Oakland at the time of the accident, which was reported at 9:55 p.m.

Humphreys also reported the female driver of the vehicle was transported to Tri-Lakes Medical Center by a deputy to obtain a blood sample.

“Anytime we have an accident with a fatality, state law requires that we get a blood sample,” Humphreys added. The vehicle was towed by a wrecker service.
