Harris Competes For Miss Hospitality 2011

HATTIESBURG – Jillian Harris has begun the journey toward hopefully becoming the 2011 Mississippi Miss Hospitality. She checked into the Century Park dorms on the campus of the University of Southern Mississippi on Sunday, July 24 to begin her week representing Water Valley in the 62nd Mississippi Miss Hospitality Pageant.

    Harris is one of 28 young women from across the state competing in Hattiesburg this week. For the next six days, she will take part in rehearsals, tours, interviews, and special events, all leading up to the Pageant at the Historic Saenger Theater in Downtown Hattiesburg this weekend.

Contestants in the Miss Hospitality Pageant compete for more than $100,000 in scholarships and prizes, as well as the honor of wearing the Miss Hospitality crown. The young lady named Mississippi Miss Hospitality 2011 will travel the state and country promoting Mississippi’s tourism and economic development. She will also serve as its goodwill ambassador for one year, showing hospitality to everyone she meets.
