WATER VALLEY –Absentee voting is underway in the county and almost 60 people have already cast a vote for the November 6 General Election.
Voters can cast an absentee ballot until Saturday, Nov. 3.     In Mississippi, registered voters are eligible to vote absentee because of age, health or work demands, or their affiliation with the U.S. armed forces. For example, voters who will be outside their county of residence on election day are entitled to vote by absentee ballot.
Circuit Clerk Daryl Burney also told the Herald the deadline to register to vote in the election is Saturday. His offices in the Water Valley and Coffeeville courthouses will be open until noon for registration.
