Power Out Sunday Morning

A center phase line burned out around 6:13 a.m. Sunday knocking out power in the city for almost two hours. Workers had to find the problem and then pull the heavy wire back into place, according to Andy Hall, manager of the Water Valley Electric Department.

The problem was just outside the main electrical substation on Gore Circle in the same area where a dump truck struck the lines three years ago. That incident put out power for just over seven hours.
