Compassion Hosts Thanksgiving Service, Meal

    Compassion Ministries will have their annual Community Thanksgiving worship service Wednesday evening, November 21, beginning at 7 p.m. This will be held in Water Valley First Baptist Church.
    Rev. Raymond Aven will moderate the service and Rev. Albert Maples, pastor of Springdale Family Worship Center, will deliver the sermon. Congregational sing-ing and special music will be provided by First Baptist Church. An offering will be received to held defray the costs of the Thanksgiving Dinner.
    Thanksgiving Dinner, provided by Compassion Ministries, will be served in First Baptist Church on Thanksgiving day from 10:30-11:30 a.m. All members of the community are invited to partake of this very special meal. Carry-out plates will be available.
    Compassion Ministries has been assisting families and individuals in the area for over 13 years. Numerous area churches, businesses, organizations, and individuals support this ministry with their finances and volunteer labor. Rev. Raymond Aven is ministry president.
    “As in past years the needs in the community are greater at this time of year,” Aven reported. Any and all assistance is needed and appreciated.
    Anyone wishing to contribute to the ministry may do so by mailing a check, made to Compassion Food Ministries, Inc., to Mrs. Margie Pilcher, Treasurer, 22 CR 389, Water Valley, MS 38965. Compassion Minis-tries is a 501(c)3 corporation and all contributions are fully tax exempt.
