Mt. Moriah Hosts MLK Celebration

    The Mt. Moriah District Association and the Yalobusha Chapter of NAACP invites everyone to attend their Annual Martin Luther King celebration on Monday, January 21. Local church groups are submitting entries for the annual poster contest.  Poster registration begins at 9:45 a.m. and the program begins at 10 a.m.
    The theme for this occasion is ‘Continuing the Dream.’ The speaker will be Pastor Jerome Battle of Chapel Hill M. B. Church in Water Valley.
    Diane Johnson of Sta-Home Health in Grenada, MS will be on hand to take blood pressure.
    Also Coffeeville/Oak-land Librarian Patty Bailey will have a display of literature from African American authors. Lunch will be served and is being coordinated through the efforts of Sister Alma Nicholson and Sister Julia Cox. Local churches and business are donating food and beverages for the luncheon. The rotating trophy will be awarded to the church with the largest attendance.
