Water Valley School District would like to “Thank” the anonymous sponsors of “Steak Lunch” Friday, February 15 at the Water Valley High School.  A special “Thank You” also goes to the Cafeteria staff and Les Gilley (cook) who assisted with many of the preparations for the meal.  ALL WVSD employees…..teachers, bus drivers, janitors, cafeteria workers, teacher assistants, and administrators were treated to a steak lunch.  People in the Water Valley community just wanted to do something for the school employees to say how much they appreciate what they do for the children and the community.  

Water Valley High School hosted the 3A Basketball Division Tournament last week.  We would like to “Thank” Trey Allman, Coach Sherman, Coach Purdy, Coach McCullough, Ms. Avant, Ms. Burgess, Ms. Willingham, Ms. Vaughn, Mr. Varner, and the many others that made this tournament a success.  The Water Valley boys’ basketball team defeated Nettleton Friday night to advance to the North Half Playoffs as the #3 team.  The Blue Devils will travel to Charleston Tuesday night, February 19, 2013, in the first round of the playoffs.  

Water Valley High School Fastpitch Softball and Baseball teams played in jamborees Saturday, February 16, to kick-off the 2013 season.  Water Valley Baseball team hosted the baseball Jamboree Saturday, while the Water Valley Softball team traveled to Eupora.  

Congratulations to the Water Valley Chess Club.  They won all matches at Coffeeville last week.  Sponsors of the Water Valley Chess Club are Sim Ramirez and Justin Thomas.
