Crappie Festival Brings Big Fun To Main Street

Runners in the BorgWarner Crappie Run/Walk are reflected in a pool of rain water that began to dry up as events at the World’s Largest Crappie Festival got underway Saturday.

William Sneed of Oxford crossed the finish line placing first overall for men. Kelsey Edwards placed first overall for women.

The Tittle family members, soon-to-be new Water Valley residents, cheer on Mom, Amy, as she nears the finish line in the walk portion of the Borg-Warner Crappie Run. Placing at the top in the 2K walk were Brett Bain, Ashley Byars, Walker Byars, Whitney Allred, Isaac Smith and Eugene Buglewicz.

Matthew Vanderford (left) and B. J. Tutor managed a pretty good time pulling their little red wagons full of kids in the walk.

Becky Tatum (near center, in funny hat) was one of the Junior Auxiliary volunteers manning the kiddie fun area.

Preslee Fischer, 8 (right edge of photo in pink), won the hula-hoop competition by keeping her hoop going for four minutes and 45 seconds.

Eli Chinault, 6, participated in a number of kid activities including the hula-hoop competition.
