Staff Report

COFFEEVILLE– The anticipated Y-Fest 2014 is fast approaching and youth from Yalobusha and surrounding counties are invited to this non-denominational event hosted by the Yalobusha Baptist Association.
This year Y-Fest is scheduled March 7 and 8 and native Yalobushian Jordan White is the speaker. White was licensed and ordained at Water Valley First Baptist Church.
Jordan’s priority as a youth minister is not only to share the gospel and lead youth to Christ, but also help them walk in fellowship.
“Follow-up is important,” Jordan told the Herald. “It is very important to help young people make decisions in light of Biblical principals,” White added.
Jordan is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Tommy White of Water Valley. His wife, Shellie, and he have two children, Hannah and Caleb. He has a bachelor of Science in Education, Fitness Mgt./Sports Medicine from Mississippi State University, and a Master of Divinity with Biblical languages from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Jordan has been in the full-time ministry for the last 15 years and has invested in the lives of students and other lay persons associated with the many areas of Student Ministry.
He is currently Vice-president of C. W. White, Inc. in Water Valley and preaches for various area churches. He is also chaplain for the Water Valley High School football team.
Praise and worship leadership will be provided by The Tom Edwards Band. For over 15 years, Tom Edwards has been leading people in worship on the road for events, as well as on staff for his local church. He is based in Clinton.
