Watermelon Queen Will Be Crowned Saturday

WATER VALLEY–A new watermelon queen will be crowned Saturday night during the 32nd Annual Watermelon Pageant.
The competition gets underway at 5 p.m. at the Water Valley Civic Center as boys compete in two age categories, ages 3 to 4 and 5 to 6; and girls compete in seven age categories spanning ages three to 25.
In the oldest category, for ages 18-25, the contestants will compete for Watermelon Queen title and a $500 scholarship.
The winner will be crowned by last year’s Watermelon Queen Carrie Carlisle at the end of the pageant.
