Annual Thanksgiving Service Will Be Held Next Wednesday
By Carroll Crenshaw
Publicity Chairman for Compassion Ministry
WATER VALLEY – As a demonstration of unity, of commitment to service, Christian brotherhood, and thankfulness the churches and other supporters of Compassion Ministry will unite in one location to worship and thank God for His many blessings and the opportunity to be of service to others.
This year the Community Thanksgiving Service will be held in Bethel Baptist Church, located 1938 County Road 220.
The message will be delivered by Rev. Lynn Jones, pastor of Woodland Hills Baptist Church. Rev. Roger Howell and singers form Adonai Church will lead the singing. Service time will be 7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 25.
Again this year, November is proving to be a very busy month for Compassion Ministry. Last week we provided food boxed for 398 families, an increase over last year and a new record number for the ministry. We continue to have new client families turn to Compassion Ministry to help provide their food needs.
All who wish to do so may provide financial assistance to Compassion Ministry by mailing a check made out to “Compassion Food Ministry, Inc.” to our treasurer at “Compassion Ministry, 22 County Road 389, Water Valley, MS 38965.”
As a new method of support, one may sponsor food boxes on a regular basis, or give on a one-time basis. One of our local businesses, Larson’s Piggly Wiggly, has committed to sponsoring boxes on a regular, on-going basis. This may be done by mailing a check to the above address in the amount of $25 for each box you wishes to sponsor.
All support is greatly appreciated by Compassion Ministry and the families who benefit from these efforts. Compassion Food Ministry, Inc. is a 501 C (3) corporation and all contributions are fully tax exempt.
