Deputies Make Multiple Weekend Arrests

Yalobusha deputies made several weekend arrests. Shelia Busby of Water Valley was stopped for careless driving in the early morning hours Monday. She was charged with possession of methamphetamine, no insurance and careless driving.

Dexter Baker Jr. and Demarcus Hart, both of Coffeeville, were arrested after fleeing a safety checkpoint on North Main Street near County Road 110 on July 15 around 3:04 a.m.

The pair led deputies and Water Valley police on a short, high speed pursuit down Main Street at high speeds, before coming to a stop south of Crawford Sports Complex.

Baker was charged with resisting arrest, possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle, running a stop sign (four counts), failure to stop of blue lights, reckless driving, driving on the wrong side of the road, driving with a suspended license and speeding, 100 in a 25 mile-per-hour zone.

Hart was charged  possession of drug paraphernalia.
