Stevens Will Serve As M.C. At Music Festival
Rev. Keith Stevens, voted Greenwood’s favorite choir director by a poll conducted by the Greenwood Commonwealth, will be Master of Ceremonies at the Watermelon Music Festival on Thursday, August 4, beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the City Auditorium.
He has held this title since becoming associate pastor of music and senior adults at Greenwood North Baptist Church eight years ago. Earlier he served at Water Valley First Baptist Church from 1988-2008.
“Since moving, we’ve had two weddings and two grandchildren,” he said. He added that Matthew and his wife live in Quitman; and daughter, Meredith Capwell, her husband and two children live in Clinton. Wife Jenny is a computer tech manager a ADP, a division of Lenvox in Grenada, where she has worked for the past 20 years. In addition, she teaches an adult Sunday School Class and is in the handbell choir.
Stevens sang with the Mississippi Singing Church-men on a tour of Santiago, Chili in 2014.
The Community Band, conducted by Keith’s brother, Butch, will open the Town & Country Garden Club’s program with a 45 minute concert, beginning at 6:30. The variety show follows at 7:30.
