It’s Time To Register Your Dog In WV

The dog tags are available at city hall.
WATER VALLEY – Residents in Water Valley have until March 1 to register their dogs at city hall. The requirement stems from an ordinance that has previously not been enforced and requires a registration tag to be displayed on a dog’s collar. The tags cost $5 and are available at city hall. Pet owners also must show proof of rabies vaccination before purchasing the tags.
The requirement surfaced during a city meeting last month after Animal Control Officer Mike Scroggins reminded aldermen that there is an old ordinance in the city that requires the registration and explained there are too many loose dogs in the community. The registration is required annually in January.
