Tillatoba News
By Patcie Deck

I think ole man winter is here! I’ve got to get our flowers in off the porch and make room in the house. I hope I haven’t waited too late to bring them in.

Alan McMillian was here in Tillatoba last week getting his home ready to sell. It is a beautiful place and home, and I’m sure he won’t have any trouble selling it.

Love your friends and let them know. A few weeks ago I wrote about my sweet Facebook friend, Judy Jabr who I had never met. Judy was waiting on an article that I had written wishing her granddaughter, Mackayla a happy birthday. I received the sad news that Judy had gotten sick and passed away before she had a chance to read it and it broke my heart.

Love and sympathy to the Judy Lynn Jabr family of Clarksdale. Judy was 73 and had worked as a nurse. She died Tuesday, Nov. 2,  at Delta Health- Northwest Regional in Clarksdale. She was a loving mother and grandmother and spent her life as a caregiver. She will be missed by many family and friends and her beloved Jack Russell, Angel.

Survivors include a son Michael (Wendy) Jabr of Pearl; a daughter Christin (Walter) Murphree of Clarksdale; brothers Terry Gene Hester (Joyce) of McGee and Larry Dean Hester (Connie) of Blue Springs; three grandchildren, Mackayla Murphree, AJ Scott and Blaire Scott.

Happy fifth Anniversary to Brent and Tori Bowman on the 12th. I hope you have many more years of love and happiness to share.

Happy belated birthday to Miguel Michael Marceleno who celebrated the 5th.

Happy birthday to a sweet little boy, Cooper Hodges  of Grenada who celebrated his first birthday on Sunday, the 7th; Kay Thurmond Turner and Marsha Goodwin celebrate the 12th; Mali Jarrell on the 13th; Marie Rowland the 14th; Charlie Brooke Bowman the 15t;h and my wonderful brother-in-love, Tommy Hudson, celebrates the 17th. I pray you all have a wonderful day celebrating.

Mike Hailey of Houston visited his brother, Festus, along with Ruth Jane and Amanda Hailey Friday afternoon.

Festus, Ruth Jane and Amanda Hailey attended the Oakland Holiday Market in Oakland on Saturday.

Martha Box said, “all I can say is L.I.V.E.  Thank God HE sees us through.” Martha heard a great spirit-filled service Sunday at Willow Springs AOG. She said it touched her soul and heart.

“Jesus is the Healer and sees me through all my pain!” she added.

Martha’s daughter, Ginger, along with Phil and Josh dropped by to check on her. Her grandson Jake, didn’t get to come home from college this weekend.

Eli Chase Newman was dedicated to the Lord on November 7 at Pinelake Church of Starkville. His parents Chase and Lorrin Newman along with grandparents, great grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousin all attended. Eli is so adored by so many, especially his big cousin Audrey Eskridge of Duck Hill!

Our visitors Sunday were Festus and Ruth Jane Hailey; Donna Garripoli and grandson, Bradley Holliday; Jason Beavers; and Waylon, Holly and Haven Rose Dukes.

After Sunday night church services at Tillatoba Baptist, supper was served. They meet and eat every other Sunday night.

Thought for the day…..It is as absurd to  pretend  that one can not love the same woman always as to pretend that a good artist needs several violins.
