Deborah McCool said the anniversary is over and they are starting another year. She shared that she didn’t do much Sunday besides working in the yard after church. Saturday evening they grilled out, and daughter Kimberly, Jason, and Caitlyn came to eat with them.
“It was good,” Deborah said. “I cooked shrimp with bell peppers, onions, squash, and tomatoes. Chicken, smoked sausage, and hamburgers. Fries and fried okra with corn nuggets. Too much—we had leftovers Sunday.”
Martha Box said, “I hear no real news is good news!” She had to skip her planned trip to Texas and missed out on her nephew Ronnie Jr.’s wedding, “daddgummit!” she added. “But hey, he is married now to a sweet, beautiful wife.”
Martha did get to hang out at the Jubilee in Grenada, and said the music was spectacular—especially The War Horse band. She joined Diane Hill in cheering them on. Sunday she enjoyed a beautiful ride to Pine Grove Baptist Church and a touching message from Bro. Scarborough about the worth of God’s Word, right after Josh Harrison sang Why Me Lord. Martha said the song and message “stirred a deep search in our souls.” Her granddaughters, Marissa Jackson and Addie, came by after church, and she loved those hugs.
Sadie Harper’s son, Ed Harper, has moved back from Indianapolis and started work Monday morning in Booneville. “We are so happy he is back home,” she said.
Ginger Harrison said they had an awesome time at the Grenada Jubilee listening to The War Horse band. “They did a great job and everyone had a good time,” she said. She also enjoyed hearing her son, Josh, play in church Sunday.
Your writer’s daughter, Donna, came Sunday and ate homemade soup with us, along with a new dessert—Cherry Fluff—that I made. After lunch, Donna vacuumed and swept before heading to Charleston to pick up photo albums from her cousin, Pam Trusty, to make copies of old family pictures.
Freda Weir had gallbladder surgery last week and came home the same day. She is doing well, with Frank taking good care of her.

Celebrating on the 22nd are Rebecca McCullar, Kenneth Rowsey, and Donald Wayne Bloodworth, and closing out the week is Jay Mullins on the 23rd. May each of you enjoy your special day!
Thought for the Day: Remember when we used to laugh at the commercial, “I’ve fallen and I can’t get up”? Yeah—it’s not so funny anymore.
