Welcome back to another week of Inside the Blue and White! It’s our first week back from fall break, and everyone is getting back into the rhythm of school life. Students are settling into classes again, and teachers are diving back into lessons. Things were moving a little slower last week as everyone adjusted, but it’s a great time to refocus, catch up, and prepare for the busy weeks ahead. Stay tuned—there’s plenty of excitement coming up as we move deeper into the fall semester!

Water Valley High School student Luke Bynum practices the P.A.S.S. method—Pull, Aim, Squeeze, and Sweep—while extinguishing a controlled fire during a Law and Public Safety class demonstration.
The Blue Devils were back at home Friday night to face the Myrtle Hawks. This game was our annual Pink Out for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and the Devils pulled off a thrilling 21–20 victory, bringing their record to 6–2 and first place in Region 2-2A.
Exciting things are happening around campus with several fundraisers in full swing. HOSA kicked off its annual Laundry Detergent Fundraiser—each 5-gallon bucket sells for $50 and even comes with a handy pump. Orders can be dropped off in the office or placed through Mrs. Chrystee Hamilton, our amazing Health Science Instructor.
Meanwhile, our Ag and FFA students have been spreading some colorful cheer by selling beautiful mums in white, yellow, bronze, and tricolor. The funds raised go directly toward new supplies for the Ag program—helping students grow both plants and skills!
Students also participated in a blood drive on Monday, an incredible opportunity to make a difference in our community.
During the first nine weeks, 11 students were recognized for exemplifying the PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) standards at Water Valley High School. Congratulations to all of you on this outstanding accomplishment!
Special congratulations also go out to Mrs. LeighAnn Richardson, who was named Super Star Staff of the Month, and Mrs. Jency Hill, our Super Star Teacher of the Month.
In Law and Public Safety, second-year students have been learning about the five classifications of fire—Classes A, B, C, D, and K—and how to properly extinguish each one using the P.A.S.S. method: Pull, Aim, Squeeze, Sweep. After hands-on demonstrations, each student successfully deployed an extinguisher and is now certified.
That wraps up our first week back from fall break! Thanks for reading this week’s Inside the Blue and White! Be sure to join us again next week to stay caught up on all the great things happening at Water Valley High School!
