Well, welcome back to this week’s article inside the Blue and White. It is the first week back from spring break, and the kids are getting back into rhythm. This week was a little slow with everything falling back into place, but I’ll tell you about it.
Congratulations to our Students of the Month. Keep striving to improve and be your best every day: Price Smith, Jayla Jones, Dallas Raines, Soniyah White, Rojeran Lumas and Dekorrious Johns.
The baseball team stayed home Friday to take on East Union in a hard-fought matchup. The team came out with energy and determination, battling through every inning and never backing down. Despite their effort and strong moments throughout the game, they ultimately came up short in the end, 18-1. Still, their perseverance and teamwork were on full display as they continue to grow and improve each time they step onto the field.
The softball team faced East Union at home as well, delivering a competitive and spirited performance throughout the game. They stayed focused and played with intensity, showing solid communication and hustle on both sides of the field. While the final result didn’t go their way, losing 29-0, their effort and determination were clear as they continue to build and get better with each game.
The archery team has been working hard and preparing for North Half, putting in hours of practice and staying focused on improving their skills. Their dedication and commitment have really shown as they get ready for this important competition. North Half will take place March 24 in Starkville, and the team is excited to compete and represent their school. We are proud of all their hard work and can’t wait to see how they perform. We wish them the best of luck.
The seniors are getting ready to take on all the exciting milestones that come with their final year. With graduation getting closer every day, there’s a lot to look forward to. The annual Mock Interviews are coming up, giving students a chance to practice real-world skills and prepare for future careers. Job Shadowing is also around the corner, allowing seniors to step into different professions and gain hands-on experience in fields they’re interested in. Soon, we will have our senior walkthrough, where we get to reflect on all the memories we’ve made and celebrate how far we’ve come. The anticipation is definitely building, and while we’re excited for what’s next, we’re also cherishing these last moments together. It’s safe to say we are more than ready and a little impatient to finally walk across that stage and graduate.
That wraps up this slow week. Thank you for reading this week’s article. I hope you’ll come back and check in with us next week. And don’t forget, next week is Prom Week.
