WATER VALLEY — For the 2026 season, Melonvine Marketplace is stepping in to host a weekly community-centered Farmers Market at its historic schoolhouse location on South Main Street, providing a place for local farmers, growers, and makers to sell and for the community to access fresh, local goods.
The Melonvine Farmers Market will align with the marketplace’s established First Saturday Markets, which feature monthly themed pop-up events, creating a steady opportunity for vendors while offering an engaging experience for shoppers.
Vendors will be hosted under the marketplace’s spacious, covered concrete porches that flank the front of the historic schoolhouse, creating a comfortable and inviting open-air market environment.
Melonvine Marketplace is seeking a diverse mix of vendors, including farmers, cottage food artisans, artists, handmade goods makers, and food trucks. In addition to vendors, local musicians are encouraged to participate and help create a lively, welcoming market atmosphere. The market offers an easy, accessible setup for vendors within an established shopping destination with regular foot traffic.
Located in a nostalgic old schoolhouse at 817 South Main Street, Melonvine Marketplace brings together a variety of vendors offering antiques, vintage pieces, handmade goods, specialty foods, home décor, and thoughtfully curated items. The space has grown into a welcoming place where visitors can take their time, browse, and discover something new with each visit.
The market will be held every Saturday. Vendors will begin setting up at 8 a.m., with the market open to the public from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Melonvine Marketplace remains open until 5 p.m.
The First Saturday Market of each month will feature a special themed event with additional pop-up vendors.
The 2026 Farmers Market season is expected to begin on May 2 and run through September 26.
“We believe this is something the community truly needs,” said marketplace owner Cinnamon Foster. “Farmers markets are about more than just shopping. They create connection, support local families, and keep traditions alive. We are honored to provide a place where that can continue.”
Local vendors interested in participating are encouraged to reach out for more information. For vendor inquiries and additional information, contact Melonvine Marketplace at 817 S Main Street in Water Valley, by email at melonvinemarket
