Tillatoba News

I pray all the boys and girls and school faculty had a great week during their fall break.
We prepared for the storm as well as we could this past weekend. God was watching over us, and all we got was a little rain, and not much of that.
Debbie McCool said her granddaughter, Allison Fletcher, and her family, who live in Alabama, are doing well. They lost electricity but were able to go to Cameron’s parents’ home. Thank God they missed the worst of it.
Sheila O’Bryant celebrated her 65th birthday with her family Saturday. Her birthday was actually Oct. 12, but she had to work. They enjoyed shepherd’s pie, salad, cake, cupcakes and ice cream. Sheila’s mother, Sadie Harper, said everything was very good.
Jacque Chambers went to The Gateway Sunday and bought a beautiful Christmas angel from Gaye Hodges. Gaye has some beautiful things at Wooden Whimzi on Facebook. Jacque also had some delicious pecan brittle from Gamma’s Goodies, made by Lisa Morehead Jones.
Jacque celebrated her birthday with a beautiful present from Adam and breakfast at Cracker Barrel with her mother-in-law and Mawmaw Betty Sue Garrison on Sunday.
Martha Box said this was a busy week, full of both good and bad things. Thank the Lord the good so outnumbered the bad!
She enjoyed good visits with her brothers and sister, cooking up good things to feed them and talking about the good old days.
“There were great times at coffee Monday and Thursday. It’s always good to catch up while we snack and sip,” Martha added. “Jerry Walton, Ricky Dunn, Linda and Harvey Darby, Kenny Parker and I miss seeing everyone at our truck stop visits. So come on by my house at 3 p.m. Monday and Thursday!”
Martha visited Pine Grove Church Sunday, and the singing lifted her soul. But the message by George “Bubba” Nelson really stirred her hands to praise Jesus! She shared with him that his “Bapacostal” method is just what the world needs! He and Brother Scarborough have that spirit-filled method just right!
Your writer’s daughter, Donna Garripoli, came up Sunday and made us a big hash brown casserole. I think she thought it was going to last us a few days, but it was so good we only had one helping left. Thank you, Donna, for all you do for us.
Celebrating birthdays this week are Sheila O’Bryant on Oct. 12, Faye Hartley, Karen Chambers and Teresa Ross on Oct. 16, Diane Nail Hill on Oct. 17, Carl Kendall on Oct. 18 and Lisa McMillan and Tripp Beardain on Oct. 19.
I hope you all have a wonderful time celebrating!
Thought for the day: Some people wake up feeling like a million dollars. I wake up feeling like “insufficient funds.”
