City Is Moving Forward With Cleanup

Following a hearing in last Tuesday’s City Board meeting, aldermen voted to use city crews to take down this dilapidated house on Bell Street and assess the cost to the owners’ property tax. City officials are working to take similar steps on other burned out, dilapidated or abandoned houses.

WATER VALLEY – The cleanup of burned-out, abandoned and dilapidated properties in the City of Water Valley will continue with the demolition of a house at 105 Bell Street after aldermen deemed it to be a threat to the public health, safety and welfare of the community during a hearing held in the August 7 city board meeting.
