WATER VALLEY – A Water Valley man was arrested on Friday the 13th after numerous tips and complaints from citizens prompted a narcotics investigation by the Yalobusha County Sheriff’s Department.
Sheriff Lance Humphreys reported his agency and the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics (MBN) agents executed a search warrant at 909 Daniels Drive, Water Valley, at the residence of Eric Caldwell, also known as “E.” around 5:30 p.m.
The search warrant was obtained after the sheriff’s department and MBN made a controlled purchase of marijuana from Caldwell at his residence. Evidence was uncovered during the search that prompted authorities to charge Caldwell with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute marijuana, according to the sheriff.
Caldwell was arrested at the scene and transported to jail where he later bonded out. The Water Valley Police Department also assisted with traffic control during the execution of the warrant.
