WATER VALLEY – The Valley Blue Devils continued their division slate last weekend as they hosted the Independence Wildcats. Independence came out firing and didn’t look back en route to a 70-46 victory over Water Valley.

Following the loss, Water Valley traveled to Clarksdale to take on the Coahoma Agricultural Tigers (16-4, 5-1 Region 2-3A) for another tough division matchup.

The Blue Devils were up to the test, taking the Tigers all the way down to the last minute.

However, Coahoma was able to hold off Water Valley, for a key 50-47 division victory. The loss dropped the Blue Devils to (4-15, 0-5 Region 2-3A) on the season.

Water Valley will be back in action on Friday night, as they host the Holly Springs Hawks (12-8, 4-0 Region 2-3A) in one of the last division matchups of the year.

Lady Devils

The Lady Devils returned to action on Monday night, as they traveled to Clarksdale to take on the Coahoma Agricultural Lady Tigers in another tough division matchup.

The Lady Tigers would prove to be too much for the Lady Devils, earning the 48-28 division victory.

The loss dropped Water Valley to (2-9, 0-4 Region 2-3A) on the season.

The Lady Devils will be looking to get a confidence boosting win over the next week as division play comes to a close, and the team turns it’s focus to the division tournament.
