WATER VALLEY- The Blue Devils (6-7, 2-0) carried a four game winning streak into their matchup with the Lafayette Commodores last Friday night.

The Blue Devils looked to extend the streak as they carried a 2-0 lead into the sixth inning, but a late Commodore rally would be enough to defeat Water Valley by a final score of 4-2.

Lafayette did a great job of slowing down the Water Valley offense, which had scored 52 runs in the last four games. Water Valley was held to only two runs on four hits.

Chapel Hyde led the Blue Devils with two hits, Gavin Darby and Jacob Truss each had one on the night.

The Blue Devils will be back in action on Friday night at 7 p.m., as they host the Independence Wildcats for a huge division contest.
