Dear Editor,

The article by Dottie Reed in last week’s Herald is a great tribute to Bishop Thomas L. Brown.  To see his journey outlined in the article through a lifelong friendship from the University of Mississippi to now speaks volumes.

Articles like these document the truth of the past and current times.

I sincerely appreciate the author’s gift. The texture of her writing conveys the thoughts I need and can’t find in other publications – i.e. The New Yorker or Atlantic. Yet it revives me the way Ebony editorials did so in yester year.

Documented, published truth will never be misconstrued or erased.
