Letter To The Editor,
May 5, 2023
I’m writing this letter to anyone who is in the know, and even to those who may not know. The ones in the know should be the teachers, the principals, and, if they are doing their job, the school board members who are placed in office to monitor and protect our children redundant – the titles assume this refers to education. Others in the know should be the parents of the children who are in the school system.
I believe it is the parents’ responsibility and mandate from God to train their children in the sexual and life-changing aspects of life, and to love everyone regardless of their economic or social status in life. The school’s job is to educate in reading, writing, arithmetic, history and geography; not indoctrinate about sexual lifestyles or practices.
The ones who may not know are the pastors, deacons, elders and Sunday-school teachers. These are the ones I am informing now, so you are not ignorant of the fact that there is garbage and pornographic material being used in our classrooms right now. The teacher and principal have been addressed about this and show no concern or care about it.
If you are a professing Christian and seemingly know about this, and you are not speaking out; you do not know the Jesus that saved me. I’m appalled that seemingly I’m the only pastor concerned enough to point it out.
Churches! You are sitting on your pews and letting our children be indoctrinated into a lifestyle that will send them to hell.
The titles of some of this so-called literature that some English teachers are requiring students to read is “The Perks of a Wallflower,” and the other, which has been labeled by some teachers as the porn version of “Romeo and Juliet” is “No Fear Shakespeare.” I understand the senior teacher does allow an alternate choice with no repercussion, but that is not always the case. One youth church member of my youth is being given a zero because she, with the encouragement of her parents, is refusing to read garbage. She is 16 and in the ninth grade. She is being punished academically for not wanting to read such trash.
Here is an insert copied from the book she has been required to read.
“The women you rape are the ones who’ll have to ‘sense’ it.” “They’ll feel me as long as I can keep an erection.”
Then a second insert. “God’s name in vain is the first word. (GDmit). It makes me mad. Day and night, hour after hour, all the time, at work, at play, alone, in company, my top priority has always been to find her a husband.”
Sad! There should be more parents and adults in the education system who care for the well-being of our youth, and the material taught to them.
Pastors, deacons, church!!! Where are you? At one time we were a voice in our community. Maybe we look so much like the community now that no one cares what we think Remember, we will stand before a righteous and Holy God one day and give an account for what we did an did not do.
“It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of a living God.” Hebrews 10:30
Sincerely
