Scumbag Thieves Take Precious Belongings From Storage Unit
WAKE UP WATER VALLEY
On Monday, June 5th, my wife and I drove to our storage unit. That is when we found out our key no longer fit the lock. We called the owner of the units and he agreed to meet with us the following day with bolt cutters. He cut the lock off and when he raised the door, we discovered that we had been robbed. Our unit had been cleaned out.
These thieves were really slick, they cut our lock off and replaced it with their own. We called the Water Valley PD and they sent Officer Ivy out to take our theft report. He was totally professional as we moaned about our missing belongings. This type of crime is seldom solved because we did not know if it happened last week or last month. After all, how often do you go to your storage unit? What the thieves did not take, they destroyed.
They took our daughter’s horse saddle that she has had for 35 years and my old cuckoo clock that cuckoos 13 times on the hour. They took my tools, but left the tool box that they came in. Worst of all, they took my Lionel Train Set my father gave me for Christmas in 1953. It is impossible to list all the items stolen.
It does not matter if you are living on South Side of Chicago or in beautiful Water ally, Evil is Everywhere. The scumbag thieves may have our precious belongings, but they did not steal our memories or the good times that went with them.
Insurance may cover part of our loss, but money cannot fill the hole in my heart over losing that Lionel Train Set.
