Class Thanks Community For Hospitality

On behalf of the Water Valley High School Class of 1955, I want to express our appreciation to the entire community of Water Valley for setting the stage for our fifty-fifth class reunion during the Watermelon Carnival.  From the Music Festival on Thursday night to the lovely meal at the Yalobusha Country Club on Friday evening to the taking down of the last booth in the park on Saturday and to the meaningful worship service at the First Presbyterian Church Sunday morning, we were warmly welcomed and we knew without a doubt that we were “back home.”

Mississippi hospitality was at its best when the Coleman Funeral Home in Oxford transported and set up a tent on the lovely grounds of the First Christian Church for our use on Saturday.  At the conclusion of the carnival, they made another trip to dismantle and pick up the tent.  This entire service was complimentary.

“We are proud to call Mississippi, and Water Valley in particular, home.”

Sincerely,
Peggy Hart Long
