Writer Fires Off Final Volley In Battle Over Gasoline Prices

Letter To Editor:
Several months ago I declared an end to my battle with local gasoline prices. However, I have decided to write one last complaint concerning Water Valley gas prices compared to Batesville prices. For some time there seems to be a difference of from 20 cents to 27-28 cents a gallon, or in the average vehicle about $4 to $6 a tankful.
It is obvious that a dollar saved on gas could be spent on other needs from food to entertainment. If one counts the vehicles in the WV trade area, this obviously adds up to thousands of dollars that never appear in other merchant’s cash registers or resident’s savings accounts every week. There will be no further comment.
