Reader Thankful For Governor’s Stand

Dear Editor,

I read an article in the April 16th newspaper. My first though after reading it was someone should stand up for the rights of those whose beliefs were being protected by Governor Bryant. No one has come forward and I’ve been convicted that I am the someone to do it.

I can only answer from a Christian viewpoint. As a Christian we should love everyone, even as our children. But it does not mean that we have to like or condone everything they do, nor join in with them.

The Bible tells us not to participate in things that are contrary to  God. Example: If a Christian official should perform a marriage of a gay couple they would be against God, just as a wedding planner, caterer, reception hall owner, etc.. would be.

Why? Because they would be joining in (participating in)  the wedding. I am sure there are other examples.

Thank you Governor Bryant for helping  to uphold the Constitution and protect the rights of one group from another group who is trying to force their “rights” (ways) onto another.

Mrs. James (Clara) Spence
